The story · one page

Always wanted. Never caught.

The character. Fivestar is a grey gangster cat. He has five wanted stars over his head, always. They never go down and they never go up. The police have chased him for years. They have never caught him. Nobody knows the original crime.

The rumour. He is launching his own memecoin, and he named it after himself: FIVESTAR. Nobody has seen it. It does not exist yet, and nobody knows when it will. The police want to stop it from ever launching. Everyone else wants to buy it. That is why he is wanted: not for what he did, for what he is about to do.

Why the police. Palm Verde is the quietest city on the coast. Nothing has happened here for forty years, and the department's entire job is to keep it that way. A cat with five stars and a coin the whole city wants is the end of the quiet. "We are not against the coin. We are against noise." Underneath: a quiet city is a city the department controls.

The city. A tunnel where he always loses them. A car wash he goes into dirty and comes out of gone. A toll booth where he pays exact change, at speed. An impound lot with one space, always empty.

The people. Everyone who joins makes a wanted poster of themselves with their own crime on it. There are no holders. There are suspects.

The rules. He never wins. He never gets caught. The stars are always five. Nobody talks about price. The coin does not exist until Dispatch reads the case number, here.

"five stars. thank you for the review."

the long drive. still five.

The countdown is the days until he gets there. On November 19 the car stops, he looks up, the stars are still five, and he drives on. Nobody has said what is on the other side. He hasn't stopped to ask.

Why the 19th. It is the day Grand Theft Auto VI comes out. Palm Verde is not in the game and neither is the cat. The five stars over his head are the only thing the two have in common, and on him they never go down.

Why the bounty is paid in studio stock. FIVESTAR is paired against TTWO, tokenized Take-Two Interactive stock on Robinhood Chain. Take-Two is the company behind GTA VI. The other half of the pair is a share of the studio that makes the chases.

Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or Robinhood. Palm Verde, Fivestar and the stars over his head are ours. The game's cities, characters and art are theirs.
